Oh these festivals! They’re too kind! Here we are, still reeling from the news that Neil Young’s playing Big Day Out and then they go and drop some more heavy news on us. This time it’s from the Good Vibes people and they’re letting a few details about next year’s festivities trickle out.
“Back in the beautiful grounds of Centennial Park in Sydney and Heirisson Island in Perth we are so excited to announce 2 brand spanking new venues this year! We are moving back to the Gold Coast to a new home in Parklands and moving to a bigger and better venue in Melbourne. We also decided to switch up the order of the shows!”
Good Vibrations Festival 2009:
Sydney, Centennial Park – Saturday 14 February
Melbourne, Venue TBC* – Sunday 15 February
Gold Coast, Parklands Showgrounds* – Saturday 21 February
Perth, Heirisson Island* – Sunday 22 February
* Subject to approval
Sam Sparro is the only act announced so far but the Good Vibes crew also said that the festival is “not gonna just be the norm…it will be Harder, Better, Faster & Stronger than 2008.” So basically, Daft Punk will be headlining. Other unrealistic expectations I have for the lineup include New Order, Jesus, O-Zone, Kim Kardashian, Jesse The Musical, M.I.A. who’s coming out retirement specifically for the show, and Eazy-E who’s coming out of death. Not bad.
