Former Idol Wes Carr Writes Song for Sydney Siege Victims

Former Australian Idol winner Wes Carr has penned a song for the victims of the Sydney siege. He posted the track, entitled ‘I Pray’, to his Facebook in the hours after the siege ended yesterday.

The track, which has since been shared more than 10,000 times, was accompanied with a message to fans:
Today I have so many questions, so much on my mind. I woke with a feeling of confusion, uneasiness..
Right now I’m meant to be rehearsing for my up and coming show about George Harrison, by I had something bottled up inside of my heart, I couldn’t ignore the feeling and then this song just poured out of me. In everything that has happened over the last 24 hours I pray we can learn from this and come together as a people no matter what and who we are. If you can’t find love right now, try to at least find hope instead of anger !
Here’s my song I pray , I wrote it an hour ago. Lyrics below, Love you all so very much x
Wes

Earlier today, he took to Facebook once again to thank fans for sharing the song:
THANKYOU ALL from the pit of my soul. ThankYOU for sharing the LOVE. I am so deeply humbled my song ‘I Pray’ has resonated with so many. Maharishi said, ‘for a forest to be green, every tree must be green.’ And that’s just it, we all need to find peace within ourselves and speak more of LOVE and HOPE than to live in fear and anger, I’m working on it everyday to be a better human sometimes it is more difficult than other times but in that contrast it just gives you the power to be better. CHANGE is the ever constant and if we keep moving towards a better feeling thought all the time, WE WILL change, and intern Change the WORLD!
To the Lives lost in the madness that transpired in Sydney, Rest In Peace. To their families we send you all strength. To the insanity that is happening all around the world, we will OVERCOME it with pure, positive LOVE and strength.
Massive, Love and Hugs to you ALL.
