Our parents told us time and time again: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
And just like the many leaked festival line-ups before it, turns out the FOMO poster that billed Justice, Desiigner, Diplo, Little Dragon, DJ Snake and more as the epic 2016 ‘line-up’ (we shared it this morning) ain’t nothing but the result of someone with too much time.
PEDESTRIAN.TV got confirmation of its illegitimacy straight from the mouth of Jessica Krishnaswamy, FOMO director and co-founder of heavyweight promoter BBE.
“We’re super flattered that someone would make a fake poster in just our 2nd year (that sort of thing is normally reserved for Splendour and Coachella), but with artist names spelt wrong, and many of those acts playing conflicting dates that couldn’t possibly be true – although it looks epic!”
It was always a stretch; a line-up of that nature would be worth well over $2.5m, which seems impossible for a local festy in its second year, and Desiigner *was* spelt wrong on the poster.
But still – we dream big and dream we did, if only for a second.
A moment of silence, please, for the line-up that wasn’t.
On the plus side, the 100% legit and no doubt equally good FOMO line-up drops tomorrow.
We’ll let you know names as soon as we can get our grubby hands on it.
