Eminem Weirds Out On ESPN / Eazy E Resurrected Via Hologram

A double shot of hip hop news this weekend:

First up, Angry Young (Sort-Of ) White Dude Eminem had a very strange and awkward interview with Jovial Old (Sort-Of) White Dudes, ESPN‘s Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit, when he appeared to promote his new single and video during a live NFL broadcast.

Eminem appeared on-screen, mouth agape and staring into space, kind of like he’d maybe ingested a few too many of the drugs he doesn’t do anymore. What’s he most excited about by the new album? “Nothing… I’ll probably be most excited to be done with it”

Eminem presented a teaser for his old-school style video for the old-school style song Berserk, which samples the kings of white rappers, the Beastie Boys.

The notoriously media-shy Slim Shady might have preferred it if they’d just made a hologram of him and used that instead, Tupac-at-Coachella style – which is exactly what Bone Thugs N Harmony did at the San Bernanido Rock The Bells Festival, bringing back legendary rapper Eazy E from the dead. Virtua-Eazy stuck around for a 7 minute Holo-Grammy award-worthy performance of NWA classics Boyz In The Hood and Straight Outta Compton, as well as Bone Thugs collaboration Foe Tha Love Of $. Pitchfork notes that a hOl’o Dirty Bastard is set to perform with Wu Tang Clan at the festival tonight.
