Delta Goodrem bought her shiniest distraction pants hit single “Sitting On Top Of The World” (which is definitely not an Arcade Fire ripoff because she hadn’t even heard of them alright so please stop asking her about it) to last night’s State of Origin clash at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium. The Voice coach discharged an appropriate number of fist pumps in a performance we’re not 100% sure we ‘believed’ in – which is just another way of saying that she didn’t really ‘own it” did she? Some limber vocal gymnastics at the end there but at no point did we 100% believe that she believed she was sitting on top of the world. Where’s the globe prop?
Thanks to The Voice this is how we judge singing performances now. Combine that with the pitch issues and we’re not rotating out computer chairs for anyone.
