Bowie Takes #1 Album Spot From Adele, Sets Record For Most LPs In Top 100

It was always going to take something monumental to oust Adele’s newie 25 from its tippy-top position on the ARIA Albums Chart, and the death of her British compatriot David Bowie definitely (and sadly) satisfies the “end of an era” criteria needed for such a feat.

Ziggy Stardust’s re-ascendance to the Cosmos has lead Bowie’s self-eulogizing album Blackstar to the #1 spot on the latest LP rankings, while two Best Of records take #3 and #9, respectively.
His music’s reappearance on the charts doesn’t end there, with a massive seventeen other albums vying for position on the full Top 100. Seminal records, including Aladdin Zane, Let’s Dance, The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars, Heroes and more, rank pretty strongly on the list.

Worth noting: the man’s got 17 records in total in there rn, besting The Beatles and Michael Jackson’s top contributions of 14 each.

Y’know that quote that poses we all die twice, once when you breathe your last, and again when somebody says your name for the last time? Well, album charts aren’t a foolproof ranking by any means, but you can pretty safely assume Bowie’s presence won’t really be leaving any time soon.
