NYC Goes Big, Officially Declares January 20 To Be ‘David Bowie Day’

Tributes to David Bowie continue to be on exactly the scale the Starman deserves, with New York City officially declaring January 20, 2016 – so, today in the U.S. –  to be David Bowie Day.

Fittingly enough, NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio is going to read the full proclamation tonight after the final performance of the sold-out run of Lazarus, a production conceived and co-produced by Bowie.

Bowie’s Facebook page announced the news today:

BOWIE DAY DECLARED IN NY AS ? HITS #1 WORLDWIDE“New York’s in love…”DAVID BOWIE ? FIRST #1 U.S. ALBUM TOPS CHARTS…

It comes three days after ‘Blackstar‘, his 28th and final album, hit #1 in the U.S. just one week after his death. Still not okay with any of this, tbh.
