Ariana Grande Pays Tribute To Her “Dearest Friend” Mac Miller On Instagram

A week on from his tragic death, Ariana Grande has taken to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute to her former boyfriend Mac Miller, remembering him as a kind, sweet soul who grappled with demons he “never deserved.”

The singer had remained silent on his passing until now, but earlier today, she wrote a remembrance of Miller alongside a video of her ex, saying:

“i adored you from the day i met you when i  was nineteen and i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest.”

Last weekend, Grande posted a simple black and white photo of her ex, with no caption.

Mac Miller died last Friday of an apparent overdose at his home in California.

A 911 call was made after his body was discovered in a bedroom, but per official reports, the 26-year-old had been dead for a number of hours before paramedics arrived.

Police are now focusing their investigation on a party that occurred at the house the night before; there have been reports that the property was ‘swept clean’ of substances before police arrived.

An autopsy into the cause of Miller’s death has been completed, but his cause of death will not be revealed until toxicology tests are returned.
