Five days after the tragic and untimely passing of rapper Mac Miller, thousands of fans held a candlelight vigil in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at Blue Slide Park.
The vigil was organised by local record label Nightfall Records who invited fans via their Facebook.
We would like to bring the city together in full force for this legendary icon. Mac deserves to be sent off with an evening of celebrating his life, discussing his struggles, and remembering his stories; most importantly for his iconic work that brought joy into the lives of everybody who listened.
We are welcoming all artists to come and paint, create, draw, live tribute art for this event.
For anybody that wants to help with this event, please email Nightfallpgh@gmail.com.
This will be the official event page and in the days to come we hope to expand upon the specific activities and those involved
Prior to the vigil, fans passed around a petition to have the park renamed after Miller and the Pittsburgh Public Works department repainted the slide where Miller used to play as a child.
Miller named his debut album back in 2011 Blue Slide Park after his childhood stomping ground.

During the service, Miller’s fans sang along to his music, decorated the park with art and lowers and lit candles to honour the singer.
