Iconic 90s party people Aqua and Vengaboys are going to be in Australia really very soon as part of the So Pop! tour, and now the two huge acts have dropped a couple of cheeky, club-sized sideshows for Melbourne, Wollongong, and Darwin.

The Eurodance icons are playing arenas across the country alongside Lou Bega, Blue, B*Witched, Eiffel 65 and more, but they’ve decided to treat those of us who were actually alive in the 90s to a couple of sneaky little ragers.
If you’re wanting to get much closer and sweatier on the Vengabus with Doctor Jones, the nineties sensations are playing a string of 18+ shows in each city, hitting Trak in Melbourne, before heading to Waves in Wollongong, and then on to Discovery Darwin in the Top End.
(Also, this is one of the best Vengaboys songs ever and I will absolutely fight you over it, thank you.)
They’ve also enlisted a couple of other infamous musos from that era where weird euro-pop disco vibes were huge and everyone wore halter necks and shell necklaces – Mr President (famed for that one song you’d definitely remember, ‘Coco Jumbo‘) and the king of the 90s himself, the man with more mix CDs than hot dinners, Nick Skitz will be standing in for Aqua at the Wollongong show.
It’s going to be exactly like those retro club nights you used to go to on a Thursday night while you were at uni and had nowhere to be on a Friday morning, except instead of a terrible DJ who can’t crossfade to save his life, you’ve got the ACTUAL Vengaboys up there in all their campy over-the-top glory, belting out ‘Boom Boom Boom Boom‘ while you lose your mind over a vodka raspberry. Yeah, go on, lean right into the mid-00s club vibes.
