Alanis Morissette Updates “Ironic” Lyrics, Remains Unironic, On ‘James Corden’

Alanis Morissette‘s grasp on the concept of irony has always been tenuous at best. She clearly never had Mrs. Tingle as a teacher:
Ol’ Tingle never would have stood for Alanis‘ shenanigans.
Well, it seems as though Alanis has received a lesson or two about the actual definition of irony over the last 20 years, because she just appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden to perform the 1995 smash hit with new, updated lyrics.
From finding out your friends are racist after you’ve accepted their Facebook friend requests, to “ten thousand male late-night hosts, when all you want is…”
Alanis and James tackle the ~modern day struggles~ of life in 2015, and it’s perfection.
“It’s singing ‘Ironic’, but there are no ironies!” the pair belt.
Who would’ve thought that 20 years on, this song could still be so good, and so gloriously unironic?
