AJ Maddah Confirms The End Of Big Day Out In Perth

Refreshingly candid and prolific tweeterAustralian music festival Svengali and the most powerful man working in the Australian music industry, AJ Maddah, has this afternoon confirmed that Sunday’s Perth leg of the festival that continues to give, the Big Day Out, will be the last of its kind in Western Australia.
In response to a teen – who describes herself as “filled with love for music and hate for people” – enquiring into the longevity of Soundwave in Perth, Maddah, who recently acquired a stake in Big Day Out, replied with the following:

According to The Music, Maddah this weekend responded to questions regarding the future of Big Day Out in any city with another question: “Why would it be the last year of BDO? I’ve just got started with it!”. He also responded to widespread speculation in October last year that the stalwart festival had passed its expiry date with a similar sentiment: “If BDO was such a basket case, why would I, the single most sensible individual in this industry, get involved?”

Should you be attending either Adelaide’s leg of the festival on Friday or Perth’s on Sunday, here are a few tips and tricks to ensure you have the most positive experience possible and successfully avoid death.
