A Beatle and some wombats

In an interview with BBC6 Music P Mac (or is that sir P Mac?) has revealed that he would like to work with and produce fellow Liverpudlians The Wombats.

McCartney stated “I don’t do much production now but it might be very tempting [to work with The Wombats]. I’m not sure they would want me. I had one of the guys from The Wombats in one of my classes. It was great. Now years later they’re doing great.” Good on you Paul, helping out the up and comers, but he also revealed his appreciation of the more established contemporary acts. “I like Radiohead – they’re really cool. I think they’re on it. Innovative.” (Like they need any more props).

The drummer for The Wombats Dan Haggis responded via BBC Newsbeat “It’s ridiculously flattering to have a Beatle like Sir Paul even mentioning us in a sentence.” He continued”I think we’d be up for doing a demo and seeing what it was like. Imagine kicking back with Sir Paul! Like, ‘Yeah, I think we need a bit more hi-hat there Paul.’”
