I know that posting about an overseas festival is kind of pointless but Coachella is so fuck off massive I felt obliged to.
No David Bowie as rumoured but the lineup still warrants a few ohhs and ahhs. Firstly, The Killers headlining WTF? The lamest, vilest, most tasteless piece of meat in a legend headliner sandwich (Paul McCartney and The Cure) – it’s like putting spam twixt your five grain gourmet loaf.
Then there are second tier acts that you’d consider selling a limb to watch live like My Blood Valentine (after a 16 year break they’re playing more and more shows, could a jaunt Down Under be possible? Please God let the answer be yes) Liars, TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and amazing newer bands such as Gang Gang Dance and Friendly Fires that are so far down the bill their band names are almost illegible.
With all the amazing music I would probably lose my mind in the desert, it’s a good thing I’m not going.
