Somewhere along the line, our homes became as much of a representation of our personal ~brand~ as our fashion is. No longer is it sartorially okay to just buy a Fantastic Furniture 6-piece set and leave it at that. No, we want statement pieces, stuff that aligns naturally with our own style – whether it’s minimalist, bohemian, kitsch or vintage.

I also have some incredible hand blown glasses from Alex Ano and a vibrant moroccan carpet from Calmachica.”
“Kelly Wearstler from LA is one of my favourite designers, I find myself dreaming about her pieces all the time. She is an amazing creative and very absorbed in the art world, her homewares are more like pieces of art.
I also recently stumbled across the work of Nicolette Johnson, a ceramic artist from Brisbane. Nicolette has a perfectly clean, modernist aesthetic and her pieces are both sculptural and intelligent. One of her works is definitely next on my must buy list.”

“I love shopping for homewares at MCM House, and I buy Moroccan rugs and cushions online. My home is full of vintage finds and pieces from op shops, and my incense and candles are from Playa by Lucy Folk in Bondi. I prefer to drink out of recycled jars, so am not too fussy when it comes to dining ware – I love mix and matching everything. I like it when things in a home all have a story behind them.”
“Seasonal Concepts is the most beautiful shop in all of Sydney (imho) and the best place to find unique one offs, antiques and other outrageously random finds. Last time I popped in I spotted a tiki-style wicker/bamboo tea chest and a coffee table embedded with butterflies. Even if you’re not in the market for furniture, you must check out the entire wall dedicated to ceramics and other homewares… It’s seriously a wonderland.”
“Worn.Store is a sustainable furniture boutique based out of Byron Bay and run by Liabelle King and Lotte Barnes, their Sling Chair is one of my all time favourite furniture pieces. I love well thought out brands that are relatively underground, and IIUVO (now stocked in Mecca) was started by two South London boys, who make beautiful candles with pared back branding and masculine scents. I have their candles in Bullshit and Woodgrain next to my bed. Phile Home make incredible cashmere blankets with personalised monogram. Super luxe, and beautiful.”
