Here’s 10 Aussie Health & Fitness Programs That Aren’t Kayla Itsines

Gyms go alright. They’re filled with equipment you almost certainly couldn’t afford to keep at your house. Most offer a bunch of classes, meaning you can pump it with a mate a la this:
They’re also shit for a few reasons. They’re expensive. If you don’t go, you might feel a sickening guilt rise up through your loins with every fortnightly direct debit. They’re also environment in which certain individuals forgo deodorant, resulting in personal attacks on your olfactory system.
We’ve compiled this nifty little list of ten workout and/or health programs you can use in the comfort of your own home or the freedom of your local park. They ain’t free, but they’re more flexible and supportive than a 24-month, ball and chain-esque gym membership.

Who? Emily Skye, a qualified trainer and model.
Program: A three phase, three level, monthly program, including over 80 instructional video tutorials. Meal plans for vegans, vegos and meat eaters. Cost? $49.95 dollarydoos for each monthly phase.
Followers: 1.4m.


Who? Leanne Ratcliffe: Raw vegan advocate, YouTube health coach, banana enthusiast and owner of the ugliest websites known to man.
Program: She’s a staunch advocate for consuming maximum carbs through fruit and exercising like a madman. 

Followers: 346,000k.

Who? Tim Robards, chiropractor and fitness fanatic who moonlighted as the sickeningly-buff Aussie Bachie in Season 1.
Program: The basic program costs $7.95 a month, with a $99 start-up fee that includes wooden rings, resistance bands and a t-shirt (lol) for your workout. There’s a complimentary app with moves too.
Followers: 125,000k.

Who? Ashy Bines is a self-proclaimed ‘Body Transformation Expert’, but despite not actually having any formal nutritional qualifications, her program is wildly popular.
Program: She offers three programs, all with a $59.95 start-up fee. For $29.95, $39.95 or $49.95 a week (strong), you get a number of group workouts, fortnightly body composition testing and online forum support.

Who? Another former Bachelor and ripped human, Sam Wood. Before becoming a semi-household name, Sam ran a fitness company, Gecko Kids, as well as a personal training studio in Hampton, called the Woodshed. Having spent 15 years in the fitness industry, man knows his turkish get-ups from his deadlifts.

Program: For a one off (finally) payment of $55, ya get 28 days worth of 28 minute video workouts hosted by Woody, as well as a meal plan. Apparently each meal takes less than 28 minutes to prep, provided you know your way around a kitchen.

Who? Michelle Bridges is best known for being a hard-arsed trainer on The Biggest Loser, and her Instagram bio describes her as Australia’s most influential health & fitness expert. *Cough* Tickets.

Program: The program works in 18 week blocks (6 weeks of preseason, 12 of full-on training), and each week costs $19.95. You get a personalised nutrition plan, meet-ups with other 12WBTers and a ready support crew.
Followers: 172,000k.
Who? Commando Steve of Biggest Loser fame, also partner and baby daddy to Michelle Bridges.
Program: His website describes the program as “task based mission preparation”. for thirteen weekly payments of $18.90, you get a program that’s pretty similar to Michelle’s, but with a decidedly camoflauge, army twist.

Who? None other than Australia’s national science research agency.

Program: Refreshingly dissimilar to the rest of the programs, this one is heavily fact based: combining science-backed healthy eating plans with easy-to-use online tools to keep ya’ll on track. It’ll still cost you, though: $149 for 12 weeks membership. They’ve also hooked Woolies into the fray, with online shopping integrated into the menus (they also give you 5% off shopping there for the 12 weeks). 

Followers: 2,273k (they are a government agency, after all).

Who? Loni Jane, a self-described ‘Earthling’… What that means? We are not entirely sure .


Program: This one’s not so much a program, but a $35 eBook guide. She details 57 recipes, motivating inspirational quotes and healthy living tipz and tricks.

Who? Amanda Bisk. She’s the real deal, this one. A former Australian pole vaulter, she’s spent over eight years at uni being qualified in the science of exercise and exercise physiology. She’s specially qualified in coaching elite athletes, CrossFit and yoga.

Program: A 12 week training program, motivational guide and online fitness community, for $59.95. Once the 12 weeks are up, you get unlimited access to the video totes.

Followers: 289,000k.
