Bethesda – the folks behind some of the biggest gaming franchises of all time – is teasing something new and by the looks of it, it’s going to be related to Fallout.
There’s really not a lot of detail in the tweet put out by the Bethesda Game Studios account, in fact, it’s just a single image, but those familiar with the post-apocalyptic franchise will know it well.

Now, there’s plenty of speculation as to what this tweet means, but lets get the bad news out of the way first – it’s unlikely Fallout 5. The most popular theory is that the company will be releasing a remaster or remake of Fallout 3, which is turning 10 in October this year. Other whispers say this remaster or Fallout 4 will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch the same way Skyrim did.
Others speculate that it could be Fallout 4’s version of New Vegas, which would make it a standalone game built on the same backbone, just in a new setting. Obsidian, the company behind New Vegas, made a tweet this morning that renders this possibility way less likely, so don’t get your hopes up.

If it’s not that, it could be a new mobile game similar to Fallout Shelter. Given the company has hinted at a new AAA freemium mobile game, this is definitely a possibility.
The Bethesda Twitch account is also running a livestream featuring a Vault Boy bobblehead, first standing, but now lying in front of the please standby clip. What the hell does this all mean?
If Bethesda’s history is anything to go by, you can expect to find out what it is tomorrow morning, as they usually make the reveal around 24 hours after the initial tease. Here’s hoping for something big, but either way, it’s Fallout. It’s gonna rule.
