According to a post made on the Bethesda forums by community administrator, Jurassica, the team will be selecting people who have pre-ordered the game via “a participating retailer” to enter the B.E.T.A. (Break-it Early Test Application). “We’ll start small and grow over time as we prepare for launch,” the post reads.
In terms of who those participating retailers are for us here in Australia, if you pre-order directly through the Bethesda store, the only retailer listed for our region is EB Games, so I’d say that’s your best option if you’re keen to get your hands dirty in a digital Wets Virginia come October.
The forum post also clarifies that everyone who pre-orders through the participating retailers will get access to the beta eventually. According to the FAQ, you’ll also automatically get BETA access if you pre-order through the Xbox One Store, PlayStation Store, or Bethesda.net eShop.
Bethesda will reveal more details about Fallout 76 next month during QuakeCon, which will also feature panels on Doom Eternal, Rage 2, and more. We’ll be on the ground in Dallas, so be sure to check back for details as they drop. Until then, continue to keep the Fallout hype way up with the nuke gameplay trailer below.
