Back in August we got our first taste of the forthcoming season when HBO unleashed a little teaser trailer which unveiled Mahershala Ali, excellent human being and Academy Award winner, as season three’s frontman.
Ali stars as police detective Wayne Hays in Northwest Arkansas.
This season will take us through three different time periods as Hays and his detective partner Roland West – played by Stephen Dorff – investigate the disturbing crime of two missing children.
Carmen Ejogo (Selma, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them) stars as Amelia Reardon, a schoolteacher in Arkansas with a connection to the missing children.
Duh, duh, DUH.
Season three is helmed by Daniel Sackheim.
Since season two wasn’t the… greatest for a large number of fans, let’s hope season three returns True Detective to its former glory.
Speaking of season one though, both Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are executive producers on the show as well as OG director Cary Joji Fukunaga.
January 13 on HBO, folks… otherwise… you know what to do.
