The best cop show on TV, Brooklyn 99, is into its fourth year blessing our TV screens. What was life like before we knew Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio), Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz), Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero), Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews) and the inimitable Captain Raymond Holt (Andrew Braugher)?

Boring and sad, most likely. Boring and sad.

And now, joy of joys, the beloved and hilarious crew have celebrated reaching a fucken belter of a milestone: none other than the table read of their 99th episode.

The ep itself is due to air in the middle of the next season, but why put off celebrating? Check out this fucken cake! And… are they all in costume, too?! Ugh, I’ve never been so jealous of a workplace.

Feel so very, very lucky. Thank you to everyone who makes going to work feel like play. @brooklyn99fox #99eps

Instagram is a veritable Santiago-level scrapbook of warm fuzzies right now, particularly courtesy Stephanie Beatriz, who’s choosing to depart from her character’s usual taciturn coolness:

We celebrated the 99th table read and 99th script today. And next week we will shoot the 99th episode. I feel overwhelmed and so freaking grateful. I remember watching a behind-the-scenes video of Parks and Recreation, from when they shot their 100th ep. I watched and rewound many times, sitting too close to the screen, mesmerized and hoping with all my heart to be a part of something that brought so much joy to so many people.
so dreams come true y’all. keep dreaming, keep trying, keep pushing toward what you want. To quote from one of my favorite songs, “Like Kevin Garnett, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!”

Awww, you guys! I bet even Captain Holt was loving it.

Here’s to 99 episodes more. And another 99 after that please. And so on, until infinity and a movie. Thanks.
