You Can Now Own Karl Stefanovic’s Sexism Suit

Convict Island’s goofy drunk uncle Karl Stefanovic made international headlines last week when it was revealed he had been wearing the same suit everyday for a year in a bid to illustrate the alarming double standards by which men and women are judged by their personal appearance.

“No one has noticed; no one gives a shit,” he said of the experiment. “But women, they wear the wrong colour and they get pulled up. They say the wrong thing and there’s thousands of tweets written about them.”

“Women are judged much more harshly and keenly for what they do, what they say and what they wear…I’ve worn the same suit on air for a year – except for a couple of times because of circumstance – to make a point.”
“I’m judged on my interviews, my appalling sense of humour – on how I do my job, basically,” he continued. “Whereas women are quite often judged on what they’re wearing or how their hair is.”

And now a navy blue two-piece Burberry knockoff emblematic of society’s inherent prejudices against women can now be yours to own. The suit, by his own admission “a bit stanky”, is currently for sale on eBay, with all proceeds going to White Ribbon, the only male led national campaign dedicated to ending men’s violence against women, an issue he feels strongly about.

“You can eliminate violence in a household in one generation,” Karl says. “It can start with a father saying to his young boys, ‘It is not acceptable to hit a woman’.”
“This issue needs to be addressed from the highest levels of society in terms of the law and the way our perpetrators are sentenced,” he continues. “There needs to be greater punishment.”
“But it goes down to individual families; to boys having a role model in their life who say, ‘It’s not acceptable to have any violence against any woman. It needs to stop and it needs to stop now, and men need to play a role in all of that.”
You now have until November 24th to submit an offer via eBay.
