Ya Girl Jennifer Lawrence Is Again The World’s Highest Paid Female Actor

Anyone genuinely surprised by that headline clearly has not been inside a cinema in the past couple of years.
Forbes has released its annual list of highest earning female actors, and once again its the internet’s own Jennifer Lawrence who tops the list for 2016, making it the second consecutive year that she’s raked in maximum stacks.
Over the past twelve months, J-Law’s managed to haul in a mammoth total of $46million pre-tax dollarydoos, thanks in large part to score a hefty slice of the box office receipts from ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2‘ as well as a walloping great big up-front fee for her role in the upcoming sci-fi film ‘Passengers‘ with fellow online homeboy Chris Pratt.
Her money haul for the past year outstrips that of Melissa McCarthy by $13million, who scored second place on the list with total earnings of $33million. McCarthy scored the biggest jump in income of anyone on the list, ramping her earnings up by $10million from the year prior to $33million overall.
Where the list gets really interesting is when you account for the fact that 90% of the actors featured on the list supplement their income with product and advertorial endorsements, highlighting the stark and gigantic wage gap that exists between men and women in Hollywood. Jennifer Aniston, in particular, landed at number 4 on the top ten list thanks largely to ad campaigns for Emirates, Smartwater, Aveeno, and Living Proof.
Notable names that dropped off the list year include Sandra Bullock, Angelina Jolie, Kristen Stewart, Reese Witherspoon (now, seemingly, without a spoon), and Cameron Diaz, all of whom fell below the $10million income cut-off for the list.
The top ten highest earning female actors for the past year is as follows:
FORBES TOP 10 HIGHEST EARNING FEMALE ACTORS
1. Jennifer Lawrence – $46million
2. Melissa McCarthy – $33million
3. Scarlett Johansson – $25million
4. Jennifer Aniston – $21million
5. Fan Bingbing – $17million
6. Charlize Theron – $16.5million
7. Amy Adams – $13.5million
8. Julia Roberts – $12million
9. Mila Kunis – $11million
10. Deepika Padukone – $10million

The list of highest paid male actors is set to follow later this week. If anyone other than Lawrence or maybe McCarthy manages to make the overall top ten, we’ll be very, very surprised.
