The formula for James Corden’s mind-bogglingly successful Carpool Karaoke is deceivingly simple. Affable British comic shuttles international heavy-hitters around in an adequately plush SUV, all parties involves bust their lungs, and us mortals are left to wonder why the hell nobody on Earth could pull of such a simple premise so well.
Well, that formula, as basic as it is, has a secret ingredient: watch carefully – or, at all – and you might notice he’s always the one driving, leaving One Direction, Adele or the Biebs free to sing and… do not much else, really.
