WATCH: New Vid Blows ‘X-Files’ On-Set Cover, Teases Giant Alien Cover-Up

Full disclosure: David Duchovny has earned somewhat of a reputation (read: total adulation) amongst certain members of P.TV staff, to the point where at least one office computer backdrop sports a truly iconic pic of the man himself, pulling a trademark squat and donning a bucket hat.

It is with his oversight that we bring you this new, behind-the-scenes clip from the set of the X-Files’ upcoming miniseries season. Set for a January release in the U.S, the new 6-ep event promises to bring the goods: “government secreting of evidence of extraterrestrials might come into play,” showrunner Chris Carter says, because of course. 

Outside of alien interlopers, the cast also big up the new season’s emphasis on the show’s mythology. Natch, Agents Mulder & Scully are back at it too, but keep your eyes peeled for a few more flashes of Joel McHale, too. And the theme song. Always and forever that theme song.
