Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloë Grace Moretz are back, a little older, wiser, buffer, and more appropriately aged to drop C-bombs, in the Kick-Ass 2 trailer.
Sure, Kick Ass is no longer the scrawny lovable faux-superhero, having morphed into a real one, and Hit Girl’s stabbing a dude in the genitals moment has a distinct been there, done that feel to it, but there seems to be enough action and lol-worthy set-ups to indicate that Kick-Ass 2 can avoid the lame sequel syndrome. Jim Carrey’s grizzled and barely recognisable Sgt Star Stripes looks set to match Nic Cage’s off-the-wall effort from the first film, while Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s S & M inspired makeover as The Motherfucker looks pretty fun.
Kick-Ass 2 hits theaters on August 16th.
