For a lot of people who grew up in Australia, yesterday was a real rollercoaster of emotions, as it was discovered that the government had opted not to continue funding Life Education, the organisation for which Healthy Harold is the mascot. And then, before we’d even had time to deal with our grief, the government announced that they would save him.
Yes, when all seemed darkest, the very same government that decided to scrap Healthy Harold joined in on the outrage and announced they would see if anything could be done to undo the actions that they did. Great work, guys.
But how did Harold feel about all this? This is maybe not a question you asked yourself, on account of Harold is a lifeless puppet. ‘The Feed‘, however, were considerate enough to ask that question and took it upon themselves to interview the noble giraffe who taught us all about carbohydrates, alcohol, and sex.
As the interview shows, Harold is a complicated giraffe, he loves what he does but clearly struggles with his own demons. He’s not just a puppet, he’s also apparently Mark Humphries in a onesie. Check it out:
