The phrase model-turned-actress is fraught with negative connotations, but for every howlingly terrible Tyra Banks, there’s an Uma Thurman. At this point, it’s too soon to tell which way Cara Delevingne will go, but the British supermodel is making the move to acting in a big way.
Delevingne, who had a cameo alongside Keira Knightly in 2012’s Anna Karenina, recently wrapped her first lead role, but sadly, it’s not about a murderous love affair between an obsessed fan and a scruffy boy band member. Instead, it’s a film called Timeless, about a young woman trying to connect with her widowed great grandmother.

Delevingne has a number of other projects on the go, including a role in the Hugh Jackman fantasy film Pan, and another alongside Johnny Depp in an adaptation of the darkly comic Martin Amis novel London Fields. Odds are she’ll be linked to one or the other in the tabloids before the year is out.
