WATCH: Britney Spears Probs Lip-Synced Her Way Through ‘Carpool Karaoke’

The preview for Britney Spears‘ ‘Carpool Karaoke‘ has been released, and if you listen quietly, you can hear the sound of her not singing one word to her own tune.

Like, she is not even trying.

James Cordon is full-on getting into it like he always does, but Britney starts by doing that awkward sing-a-long thing where you feel like you’re supposed to know the words, but you actually don’t know any of the words. All of this would be okay except that Britney should definitely know all the words to the songs by Britney Spears.

Then she starts getting into it – and by that we mean she stars moving her mouth and bopping – but there are definitely no sounds emanating from her mouth.

She’s got great teeth, though.

Now bearing in mind this is only the preview, and bearing in mind that Britney may actually bust out a vocal or two in the full clip, and bearing in mind that lip-synching is pretty much the performer’s modus operandi…. bearing all that in mind… give us Adele and her bang-on perfect rendition of Kanye West‘s Monster any day of the week.

The full thing drops this Thursday; we wait with hardly-baited breathes.
