During filming of the worldwide smash ‘Gravity’, which has to date grossed over $516 million, the director’s son (and co-writer for the film) Jonás Cuarón, was off on a remote fjord in Greenland filming for a project entitled ‘Aningaaq‘. The seven minute short is a companion piece from (no spoilers) the scene where Sanda Bullock is speaking to an unknown voice via radio and was originally meant as a Blu-ray special feature; it has since started on the film festival circuit and consequentially submitted for Oscar consideration.
The film stars Greenlandish actor Orto Ignatiussen, was filmed on a budget of $100k, and finished post-production just in time to include the audio in ‘Gravity’. So, if you’ve seen it, you’ll recognise this drunken singing:
Thanks for putting it online, Cuaróns!
