US McDonald’s To Accept Hugs, Acts Of Kindness As Payment In February

Putting the “cheese” in cheeseburger, US McDonald’s have unveiled a new campaign that will be plaguing SuperBowl ad breaks on Sunday, along with a whole other bunch of legends.

The “Choose Lovin’” campaign will be rolling out across the States from Monday, with all stores across the country allocating 100 transactions with the special form of payment. Options seem to include:

– Hugging a loved one
– A fist bump to the crew
– Calling ya mam to tell her ILY
– Dancing
– Pretending you have a soul, concealing your inner hatred of all things good, and doing the McDonald’s servers’ bidding, because you’re free nuggets are worth it.

It’s the kind of campaign that punters will, of course, go absolutely nuts for. Held until February 14, it’s a free-food-pay-it-forward situation that we can only hope Maccas down under takes on board, too. YOUR MOVE, MACCAS.

The below Super Bowl spot is a follow up to their earlier teaser (I had been hoping the “new form of payment” was going to be, like, your soul, or, your first born, or something, but that is just my inner Ludgate talking. This is probably better):
