TRAINERS UNITE: Nintendo Confirms Pokémon Sun And Moon For “Late 2016”

It feels like a loooooong time since Pokémon X & Y came out back in 2013, but today is a good day, because today, Nintendo have announced the release of Pokémon Sun & Moon, for the 3DS system, later in 2016.

The news was all-but-confirmed in a leak yesterday, in which the names of the games were revealed, along with the fact that we might also be getting the Nintendo NX and a new Legend Of Zelda this year.
Today, Nintendo have shared the news that Sun and Moon are definitely, actually coming, in a trailer that looks back at 20 years of the series, before giving a brief, tantalising glimpse at some new concept art and a “late 2016” release date:
Nintendo have also announced that Pokémon caught and traded in 3DS Virtual Console versions the older games will now be transferable to the newer ones. Per their official press release:
This online storage application will make it possible for fans to move Pokémon wirelessly from Pokémon Red Version, Pokémon Blue Version and Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition, which come to the Virtual Console on Nintendo 3DS on February 27, to Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. Pokémon from Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, and Pokémon Y can also be transferred to Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon through Pokémon Bank.
BRB, working on the dozen or so games on my pile of shame to make sure I can devote my full attention to the new Pokémon the second it’s out.
