Tom Holland turned 23 on Saturday, and his former co-star Naomi Watts wished him happy birthday with a throwback photo of the two of them working together in The Impossible, going full embarrassing mum in the process.

The Impossible, which tells the story of a family caught up in the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami, was the first major film role for Holland, who was 14 at the time. Watts played his mother, and posted a few pics of them on set in Thailand, saying:

“Happy, Happy Birthday to lovely Tom. So much love to you. Here are some little memories from The Impossible. So much fun was had despite all the cuts and bruises… the fake ones too!”

Robert Downey Jr, who worked with Tom Holland in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films as his character Iron Man mentored Spider-Man, also shared a cute birthday tribute.

“From ‘Underoos’ to overlord, it’s been a thrill to watch you rise, and we’re all pretty darned glad u were born,” the actor wrote.

Tom Holland will next be seen in Spider-Man: Far From Home and the Pixar animated fantasy Onward, and he has a pretty busy time ahead of him after that, including a role as adventurer Nathan Drake in the long-awaited Uncharted movie.
