Tituss Burgess Is Set To Host A Wild New Cooking Show And Yes, Cannons Are Involved

Tituss Burgess is getting a cooking show. But not just any ol’ cooking show. His new cooking show, Dishmantled will feature him literally firing food out of cannons. Cooked, I know.

The iconic Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star is set to host the new cooking competition series from the creators of Chopped. But unlike Chopped, which is praised for it’s simplistic four-ingredient approach, Dishmantled is taking on more of a “grab every item in the pantry and fire it out of a fucking cannon” approach.

The show has been described as “a high-octane cooking competition that will literally blow your socks off,” by the creators.

Each episode will begin with blindfolded chefs copping a cannon full of a mystery dish to the face. They then have to use their tastebuds and chef skills to identify and recreate the dish. Whoever comes closest to the original mystery dish will win the challenge and the cash prize, Deadline reports.

I’m not usually a fan of cooking shows but the sound of comedic genius, Tituss Burgess hosting a wild, high intensity cooking competition sounds amazing.

Honestly, I don’t think anyone else could do a show like this justice. This hosting gig was made for Tituss Burgess, and I am LIVING for it.

Burgess is an Emmy-nominated actor who’s worked on the likes of 30 Rock and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and the show is produced by Linda Lea, who was an executive producer on Queer Eye For the Straight Guy, so you know it’ll be amazing.

The show it set to premiere on a new short-form streaming service called Quibi, which was developed by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman. The platform is scheduled for release in 2020, but we don’t have a launch date for Dishmantled just yet.
