The Mother of Dragons Emilia Clark Looks Nothing Like Her ‘Game of Thrones’ Alter Ego On The WSJ Cover

Because she’s an adept actor and not actually the Mother of Dragons, Emilia Clarke looks totally different and quietly amazing on the cover and in an editorial shot by Lachlan Bailey featured in the latest issue of the Wall Street Journal
The disparity between Clarke and the character she is paid to play as part of her profession is repeatedly made reference to in Brian Rafferty’s accompanying profile, almost as if he can’t quite believe that she’s J.Lo levels of real: Clarke’s hair is brown, not white; Dany wears sand-strewn costumes, Clarke wears a $21,014 necklace on the cover; Dany eats horse heart, Clarke once ate a robin heart; Dany commands an army of 8,000 Unsullied, Clarke and is a goof who commands a room of HBO executives by dancing “the robot, followed by the funky chicken dance” in order to secure her role on Game of Thrones. Hard to believe, but it’s all true.
