The very first trailer for the upcoming live-action The Lion King flick that all you Disney nutters have been so longing for has just been unveiled and it’s nothing short of a nostalgic masterpiece.

We’re given our first look at the real life animals, narrated by King Mufasa himself, James Earl Jones.

“Everything the light touches is our kingdom but a king’s time as ruler rises and falls like the sun,” daddy Mufasa says.

“One day the sun will set on my time here and will rise with you as the new king.”

As he speaks this prophetic line, we see a herd of wilderbeast running rampant which, I fear, is a glimpse at the live-action version of Mufasa’s death AKA the scene that broke our hearts into a million miserable pieces as kids from which we have not yet fully recovered.

The aforementioned ‘Circle Of Life’ bop is then played and old m8 Rafiki appears to bless the fkn ADORABLE bb Simba and fuck me, I want oneeeee.

“Remember,” he concludes as Simba roars up to the sky in what I believe to be the iconic scene where Mufasa appears in the clouds to give his son guidance after his death.

Check out the brill trailer below and prepare to weep openly:

The highly anticipated adaptation of the 1994 classic stars Donald Glover (Simba), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), James Earl Jones (Mufasa), Beyonce (Nala), Eric Andre (Ed the Hyena), Seth Rogen (Pumba), Bily Eichner (Timon), Florence Kasumba (Shenzi), Keegan-Michael Key (Banzai), John Kani (Rafiki), John Oliver (Zazu), Alfre Woodard (Sarabi) and JD McCary (young Simba).

The Lion King hits cinemas on July 19th, 2019.
