He of the excellent televisual experiences, David Simon, is once again joining forces with old mate HBO to create a six-hour miniseries for the people.
After finding legions of fans with a collection of some of the best written shows of all time – The Wire, Generation Kill and Treme et cetera – Simon has enlisted Oscar Isaac and Catherine Keener to star in Show Me A Hero, which is based on former New York Times reporter Lisa Belkin’s novel.

Plot: “Show Me a Hero is set in an America generations removed from the greatest civil rights struggles of the 1960s. It centers on the young mayor [Isaac] of a midsize American city who is faced with a federal court order that says he must build a small number of low-income housing units in the white neighborhoods of his town. His attempt to do so tears the whole city apart, paralyzes the entire municipal government and, ultimately, destroys the mayor and his political future.”
