SHIT YEAH: A Forgotten S1 ‘Game Of Thrones’ Character Might Be Returning

SPOILER WARNING: Sorta. This doesn’t actually contain spoilers for ‘Game of Thrones‘ S7 unless we’re right. We could be right. You don’t know that we’re not right. And tbqh, even if we are right, this is going to be an extremely memorable moment whether or not you suspect it’s coming.

Okay, so there is a very strong chance an important character from ‘Game of Thrones’ S1 is coming back for S7.

Are you ready for this?

It’s Arya Stark‘s direwolf, Nymeria.

The last time we saw Nymeria, Arya (Maisie Williams) was forcing her to flee because Joffrey, the little shit, wanted her executed. “We had to throw rocks. I told her to run, to go be free, that I didn’t want her anymore,” she tells her (now dead) dad Ned

But in the books, Nymeria’s been popping up at least once per novel. Different characters have heard tales of a great pack of wolves led by a monstrous-sized female prowling the Riverlands. And when Arya takes the identity of Blind Beth and loses her sight, she experiences wolf dreams that put her in the same spot.

Either George R. R. Martin has been dropping hints that Nymeria is still very much alive for five books, or he just can’t stop thinking about wolves. Probably both.

Okay, so. Season seven. Watchers on the Wall reported that Maisie was spotted in Calgary, Canada, the show’s least known filming location and where they happen to work with wolves against a green screen to digitally turn them into ginormous direwolves.

And Instinct Animals For Film, the company that owns the wolves used in ‘Game of Thrones’, posted two very telling pics to its Instagram account.

(@instinctwolves is private and hasn’t accepted my follow request yet, so shout-out to WOTW for the screenshots.)

The white wolf is Quigley, who has played Jon Snow‘s direwolf Ghost since 2015. And as for the other one… well, we don’t have a name, but we do have a #winteriscoming hashtag. So either we have Nymeria, or S7 includes another bloody huge wolf.

And let’s not forget: Lady, Grey Wind, Shaggydog, Summer – all dead.

We could be wrong… but it looks like Nymeria is back, baby.

PLEEEEEEEEEASE.
