Look, just sign us up: Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe have been cast in the new noir cop film from Shane Black (Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lethal Weapon).
Titled “The Nice Guys”, the film will apparently not play on the fact that its two leads have surnames that are also types of birds. Instead, it’ll follow a pair of detectives, named – detectively – Jackson Healy and Holland March, who uncover a murder conspiracy while investigating the suicide of a porn star in ’70s LA.
Given the strength of both Crowe and Black’s most recent LA thrillers, the not particularly recent Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and LA Confidential, as well as the current, True Detective-fuelled trend for gritty cop duos, we’re banking on this being pretty good.
