Quentin Tarantino Wants To Turn Django Unchained Into A Miniseries

Gather ’round, children. Big news from the Cannes Film Festival: Quentin Tarantino may turn his excellent 2012 spaghetti western revenge flick Django Unchained into a TV miniseries.
Tarantino’s fairly notorious for getting excited about projects and then ditching them – he recently called off his follow-up to Django, titled The Hateful Eight – so who knows if it’ll happen. It sounds promising, though:
“I have about 90 minutes worth of material with Django… It hasn’t been seen. My idea, frankly, is to cut together a four-hour version of Django Unchained. But I wouldn’t show it like a four hour movie. I would cut it up into hour chapters. Like a four-part mini-series. And show it on cable television. Show it like an hour at a time, each chapter.”
Frankly, the idea of Tarantino dipping his toes in the Golden Age of Television™ is ridiculously exciting to us, so let’s hope he follows through.
