Watch Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ Trailer

It’s finally here! Quentin Tarantino continues his assault on notable racists of modern history by trading in Nazis for slave owners in this first teaser trailer for revenge buddy flick Django Unchained. Soundtracked by Johnny Cash’s “Ain’t No Grave (Gonna Hold This Body Down)”, the trailer introduces us to Jamie Foxx’s Django (the “D” is silent, he informs us), a freed former slave (and dead eye marksman?) who forms an unlikely alliance with Christoph Waltz’s German bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz. Together they travel the deep South trying to locate bigoted plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio’s) the captor of Django’s wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington).

There will be blood, bromance and heaps of dead racist people. What more could you want?

The synopsis: “Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award®-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.”

The film is scheduled for release Christmas Day, 2012.
