Pete Evans Snaps Back At Doctor Who Proposes His Books Could Be A Toilet Paper Substitute

Celebrity chef Pete Evans has snapped back after an Aussie doctor suggested his books might be a viable substitute for toilet paper in these wild and troubled times.

For the past week, Aussies have been stripping supermarket shelves of loo rolls, hoarding them in massive bulk amounts as a uniquely dumb way to prep for possible coronvairus quarantine.

Earlier this week, surgeon Dr Nikki Stamp took to Twitter to suggest some possible alternatives, should your stocks of TP happen to run out. She proposed:

“Anything written by Pete Evans, Medical Medium, Jason Fung, Mark Hyman, Dr Oz The ‘How Not to Die’ book 50 Shades of Gray Don’t worry, it is the most useful any of these books will ever get to be.”

Ouch.

Pete Evans himself caught wind of this after a follower alerted him to it, and he was not thrilled, taking to Facebook to respond. He wrote:

“Very interesting to read what our health “professionals” share to their audience. Feel free to share your own story about improved health from following the work from any of the people listed. I wonder why she believes organic fruit and vegetables and well sourced meat and seafood is dangerous? I have a podcast with Dr Fung also if anyone is interested in listening. By the way this person is a heart surgeon. I send her love for her heart.”

Speaking with The Daily Telegraph after the fact, the chef criticised the suggestion as “childish and immature”, adding:

“Funnily enough, all my cook books are in glossy paper, so she would probably find it hard to wipe her bum with. My publisher has always wanted to do my books in matte and I have always been adamant it is gloss because I think food should pop off the page. I like it glossy and colourful.”

Meanwhile, Pete Evans has been skating up a storm on his Instagram, so if that’s the content you crave, then give it a watch:
