Paris Jackson used her platform as a presenter at the MTV Video Music Awards to slam the white nationalists and neo-Nazis who rallied Charlottesville a few weeks ago.

The 19-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson went in while presenting the award for best pop video – kicking off the festivities in truly respectable fashion.

Speaking to the crowd, she denounced those who rallied in Charlottesville:

Lets leave here tonight knowing that, we must show these Nazi, white-supremacist jerks in Charlottesville and all over the country that as a nation with liberty as our slogan we have zero tolerance for their violence, their hatred and their discrimination. We must resist.

Jackson also imitated some of Trump’s favourite lines. “Believe me,” she said, of people coming together as a nation. “And that’s not fake news.”

She then announced that Fifth Harmony won the category.

Here’s the video:

This wasn’t the first and it certainly won’t be the last big political statement at the VMA’s. This we can promise you.
