NSW Health Minister Slams Paleo Pete Evans For His Stance On Fluoride

Pete Evans is probably longing for the days when his biggest challenge was keeping a mouthful of David and Corinne‘s shitty corn and avocado soup down without gagging.
The embattled My Kitchen Rules judge was last in the news when his paleo for babies cookbook was withdrawn from publication, after it was revealed that a recipe for DIY formula could potentially be fatal for infants.
Today, he has been slammed by no less than Jillian Skinner, the NSW Health Minister, who took him to task for his stance on fluoride, after a recent appearance in a ‘Fluoride-Free WA’ shirt, promoting the cause of a Perth lobby group.
Evans – who, it must be said, has blindingly-white teeth to compliment his perpetually-terrified, thousand-yard stare – is a strong proponent of fluoride-free water, and refuses to let his family drink Australian tap water.
Per reports in the Daily Telegraph, Skinner has come out firmly against Evans’ stance, saying she is “highly disappointed” that he would use his public profile to promote a cause in which he has “no expertise.”
“Here we are spending a lot of effort and energy in educating people about the value of fluoridation … and it is countered by a celebrity who knows nothing from a specialist point of view,” Skinner said.
Potentially the worst part of all this is that Skinner refuses to watch MKR, and therefore has no idea just how hard Ash and her resplendent Sideshow Bob hair are crushing it this year.
Evans has responded to the Health Minister, saying “I welcome the opportunity to discuss the value of fluoridation with Ms Skinner, but ask that she, or any other party, does not misrepresent my views, opinions or beliefs.”
