Netflix Confirms ENTIRE Original Cast Returning For ‘Wet Hot American Summer’

Back in 2001 a tiny little film was released into cinemas, managing to gross a pretty paltry total of $300,000 at the box office. At the time, critical reception was mixed, and audience reaction was even lower – ranging from disinterest to general confusion. Over time, however, the real genius of the film began to be realised as a cult audience slowly found it, and adored it. The cast of the film, though at the time comprised of largely unknowns coupled with one or two medium-sized stars from the 90s, grew to include a bunch of people who’ve since picked up Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy awards and nominations. And now, 14 years later, they’re all returning back to the place where it all began.

Netflix has confirmed that the ENTIRE original cast of Wet Hot American Summer is getting back together for the revival series to be screened on the streaming giant this coming American summer.
And when I say “ENTIRE” original cast, I really do mean everyone. Would you just look at this list of names, for cryin’ out loud!
We’re talking Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, AND Michael Showalter.
All of them. Back in for round two.
This, combined with the previously announced new additions to the sprawling population of Camp Firewood, including Josh Charles, John Slattery, Michaela Watkins, Randall Park, Jayma Mays, Paul Scheer, Lake Bell, Rob Huebel and Richard Schiff.

The eight episode limited series will air later this year. Let us all fondle some sweaters in celebration.
