Nathan Barley

British comedy at it’s best! Nathan Barley (the main character) is a webmaster, guerrilla filmmaker, screenwriter, DJ and in his own words, a “self-facilitating media node”. He is convinced he is the epitome of urban cool, and therefore secretly terrified he might not be, which is why he reads Sugar Ape magazine, his bible of cool. The magazine is an obvious parody of Vice Magazine and even has one issue called “The Vice Issue”.
His website is called trashbat.co.ck (he takes great pleasure and amusement in saying it out loud to people and really pronouncing the “cock” part at the end). The site basically consists of stupid videos of the pranks he pulls on people, pictures of Nathan with hot ladies and famous people (most of which are just photoshopped in next to him), and photos of him on various famous street corners around the world. Nathan is under the impression that because he has some video and photo equiptment and basic computer knowledge that he is talented and somewhat well-known. When actually, the things he does are of no real interest to anyone besides himself and his immediate friends.

There has only been one season back in ’05 (although there are rumors of a second season). I have only seen about the first 5 episodes or so, but I am so hooked! This show is seriously genius. It’s the kind of show you have to pay attention to though. Some of the jokes are very subtle and dry, but totally hillarious so you don’t want to miss one…
