Michael Kenneth Williams, better known as Omar Little from David Simon and HBO’s The Wire, has come out (but not come out come out) in support of marriage equality in the state of Maryland, whose previous attempt at passing the marriage equality bill was blocked by conservative religious groups.
Williams, who spent a lot of time in Baltimore shooting The Wire, has joined other vocal Marylanders For Marriage Equality, including Mo’Nique, with each championing the values of love, equality, family and commitment at the heart of the debate.
It’s fitting coincidence then that Williams should make public his support in the same week that saw Magda Szubanski do the very same thing.
