Second Ad For Marriage Equality Has Triple The Number Of Names Behind It

Despite Scott Morrison asking Australians to please shut up about the whole marriage equality thing (and btw he’s not a homophobe), major corporations are throwing their excessive weight behind it.

McDonalds, Twitter, Telstra, Airbnb, and the big four banks are among 154 companies taking out another full page ad in the Weekend Australian Magazine calling for marriage equality. That’s triple the number of companies that took out the last ad supporting same sex marriage in The Australian, which went full blown bananas on the internet. Can you feel the momentum building?

The companies have also signed a joint letter calling on federal parliament to act. Hey Morrison, Abbott, Hockey – maybe it’s time to discuss that conscience vote, yeah? Somehow waiting till after the next election doesn’t seem like the smartest move, seat-holding wise.

This ad also comes just days after the deluded Canberra couple literally threatened to divorce if gay marriage is allowed, which most of Australia will not give two fucks about, thanks all the same.
