Mary’s In Newtown Now Has A Massive ‘Game Of Thrones’ Mural

This morning, residents of Newtown awoke, bleary-eyed, to discover that a little corner of their suburb had transformed into Mereen, with Mary‘s, better-known for slinging top-notch burgers and beers, now featuring a massive Game Of Thronesinspired mural on its side wall.
The mural depicts a wall from the strife-torn city, where Daenerys unleashed some holy dragon fire on an enemy fleet in Season 6, before finally setting off for Westeros, where she’ll hopefully be delivering a cathartic arse-kicking to what remains of the Lannisters

Don’t forget to check out the game of thrones wall on the side of @marysnewtown today as you make your way to @newtowncentre festival #newtownfestival #gameofthrones #hbo #blackbookink #blackbookinkmurals @roadshowau

The mural is the work of Blackbook Ink artists Brode Compton and David Lineham, and was unveiled today, just in time for the Newtown Festial, in Camperdown Memorial Rest Park. The not-for-profit festival raises funds to support people at risk of homelessness in Sydney’s inner-west … and possibly also to fend off dragon attacks.
Compton told Pedestrian.TV: “It’s always a great pleasure painting murals such as the one we did for Game Of Thrones as a lot of the inspiration we get is based from fantasy artwork.”
Blackbook painted the mural in honour of Game of Thrones Season 6, which is out on Blu-Ray and DVD on November 16. You can check out more of their work on Instagram
