The Beverly Hills, 90210 and Riverdale star died following complications from a massive stroke. He was 52.

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, Bauer thanked everyone for the “outpouring of love and support” she has received over the past week.

“The countless, heartwarming stories of Luke’s generosity and kindness have been a great source of solace during this difficult time,” she said. “The past 11½ years with Luke were the happiest years of my life, and I am grateful to have had that time with him.”

Bauer also thanked Perry’s children, family, and friends.

“We have found comfort in one another and in the knowledge that our lives were touched by an extraordinary man. He will be dearly missed.”

On social media, Perry’s two children Jack and Sophie each paid tribute to their father.

“I’ve learned so much from you, and my heart is broken thinking about everything you won’t be here for,” Jack wrote. “I’ll miss you every day that I walk this earth. I’ll do whatever I can to carry on your legacy and make you proud. I love you Dad.”

On International Women’s Day, Sophie dedicated a post to her mother, Perry’s ex-wife Rachel ‘Minnie’ Sharp – “She is the rock for everybody grieving in this family right now.”

Perry was also honoured by his many Riverdale co-stars. He was described as an “authentic man who took pleasure in offering us his guidance and wisdom” by Camila Mendes.

“He had the ability to make you feel comfortable and at ease within seconds of seeing him. I will never forget the collective shock and distress we experienced when the news broke on set. We lost a dear friend. My heart hurts for his family and anybody who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in Peace, Luke.

“Although you’re no longer around to wrap me in the warmth of your hug, I can still remember what it felt like. Whenever I think of you, I will remember that feeling.”
