Here’s How To Watch Line Of Duty S6 In Aus, Since All Your UK Mates Are Trying To Spoil It

Line Of Duty

I spent most of lockdown inhaling all five seasons of the BBC’s bent copper show Line of Duty, so the much-delayed Season 6 finally being upon us is very, very good news to me. Since you’re reading this, I assume it is also to you. As the big man Ted Hastings himself would say: now we’re sucking diesel.

Line of Duty Season 6 has officially dropped on BritBox, the streaming service from the BBC and ITV that lets Aussies watch all their fave British shows. In fact, two episodes have dropped already – and Seasons 1 to 5 are available on there as well, if you want to catch up.

The newest season picks up where the Season 5 cliffhanger left off, when we learned that ‘H’ wasn’t one person but four corrupt police officers.

Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) and Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) rewatched the dying declaration of Dot Cotton, and realised they’d been misinterpreting his message all along.

“The letter H in Morse code is four dots,” Steve said.

“‘H’ is not an initial, it’s a clue. Four dots. Four caddies. Four police staff in league with organised crime.”

Can you BELIEVE we’ve had to wait two years to find out what happens next? I wasn’t sure about this whole pandemic thing before, but now it’s personal.

This season, AC-12 is looking into Detective Inspector Joanne Davidson (season newcomer Kelly Macdonald), who *might* have played a role in the murder of a woman going unsolved for years.

“Gail Vella’s murder is this force’s highest profile investigation,” Hastings says in the Line of Duty trailer, which dropped a few weeks ago.

“It’ll be our job to detect whether police corruption has contributed to this murder remaining unsolved,”

Love the set-up there Ted, but check out this line later on:

“When did we stop caring about honesty and integrity?”

OOMPH. Give it to me.

Cue: Steve brooding, Kate looking suspicious, and a deeply suss-looking man in a suit claiming there’s no corruption. HA! I know better, suit man. I’ve seen five seasons of this shit.

The only disappointing thing about this Line of Duty trailer is that Steve still has his weird little beard. Shaving it should be his highest priority.
